Dan Brady is is the author of two chapbooks, Cabin Fever / Fossil Record (Flying Guillotine Press, 2014) and Leroy Sequences (Horse Less Press, 2014). He is the poetry editor of Barrelhouse and lives in Arlington, Virginia with his wife and two kids.

From 2005 to 2007, Brady was the editor of American Poets, the journal of the Academy of American Poets working with poets such as Sherman Alexie, Rae Armantrout, John Ashbery, Joshua Beckman, Mark Doty, Peter Gizzi, Donald Hall, Matthea Harvey, Lyn Hejinian, W.S. Merwin, Sharon Olds, Kay Ryan, Dean Young, and others.
After leaving the Academy, Brady went on to serve in the Literature Division of the National Endowment for the Arts focusing primarily on the Big Read, the largest community reading initiative in US history, creating reading guides to great works of American literature.
He remains active the in DC literary community as the poetry editor of Barrelhouse and the host of the Barrelhouse Presents Reading Series at Petworth Citizen. Barrelhouse is an independent non-profit literary magazine and small press that seeks to bridge the gap between serious art and pop culture. Work that originally appeared in Barrelhouse has been featured in Best American Nonrequired Reading, Best American Science Fiction and Fantasy, and the Million Writer’s Award.
